The Can You Hear Me Now Protocol | A Bio-Com Stress Reduction Meditation to Boost Overall Wellness

You have two types of DNA that live inside each one of your trillions of cells — instructing their automatic function (via gene expression and energy production) as individual contributors of the holistic creature you call you.


Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) is constantly receiving and transmitting microscopic information from your internal and external environment to manage the genetic Nucleus DNA (nDNA) cellular instructions.


When mtDNA energy production malfunctions due to negative information signals — your cellular function naturally shifts into a state of “survival mode” where protection (rather than optimized function) is activated. 


When cellular function is focused on survival long term — your internal communication system naturally begins to break down, causing your mental, emotional, and physical wellness to diminish.


As the Biological Steward of your body, you have the conscious ability to indirectly intervene here.


The way you manage your general everyday wellness sends automatic signals to your mtDNA that influences the way your nDNA expresses genes.


The better you manage stress and take care of your body, the better signals you send your system, and the better your dna can instruct your cells to function.


Meditation is a quick and handy way to cultivate moments of inner-peace that help manage stress.


Use this simple 4 step practice multiple times daily to give your system a boost of the positive emotion it requires for clear communication and optimized function.


Think of it as popping yourself on the happy charger — Even a few minutes at a time can help temporarily stabilize your emotions just enough to get you through a little more of your day. 


The Can You Hear Me Now Protocol

  1. Reset | close your eyes and slowly count to 60 (or more) — temporarily letting go of any current thoughts and emotions to form a mental blank slate.
  2. Power Up | Once you feel relaxed, use visualization, memories, or an affirmation to cultivate high level feelings of love, joy, hope, or gratitude.
  3. Synchronize | From that positively charged place, move your focus to the center of your chest and breathe in for 5 out for 5 to enter a heart-aligned state where your breath & heartbeat are in sync. 


It may help to keep your mind from wondering around by practicing a basic white light visualization meditation here:

  • Simply imagine a golden white glowing dot of light forms in the center of your chest, growing with each breath until it’s projecting out of you, forming a protective bubble around your whole body. 
  • Then imagine tons of tiny white dots of light turn on inside your body from head to toe — making you glow inside like a Christmas tree.


*If you have an easier time distracting your mind with affirmations — basic “I Am”statements tend to work well here. 


You can try something like: 

  • I am optimized.
  • I am connected.
  • I am __________ (happy, love(d), safe, grateful, healthy, etc.)


4. Stay in this place as long as you feel comfortable and relaxed — allowing yourself to open your eyes

and end the meditation naturally. 


*If you have time constraints, setting a gentle phone timer to help ease you out of meditation (rather than startle you out abruptly) may be appropriate. 


The goal here is to:

A. train your subconscious mind to program this peaceful emotional state as a go-to stress management exercise in the heat of uncomfortable future situations.


B. consciously give your body stress-free moments to function optimally (instead of in stress mode) throughout the day.


The more you practice taking yourself there consciously — the easier, and more natural it will become for your subconscious mind to take you there automatically.
